Your info, kept simple

What we keep

• Your order: your email, your order number and your license key, so the guide knows you bought it and can help you if you lose your key.
• Your training: your dog's name, the days and tasks you tick off, and your notes, so they show up on every device you sign in on.
• Your devices: the browser type of each device you sign in on, so the guide can keep you signed in on up to three of them.
• Visit counts: when you open the site or the guide we count the visit: the page, your country, region and city (worked out from your internet connection), the website or app that sent you (for example Google or Instagram), and whether you're on a phone or a computer. We don't use cookies for this and we don't store your internet address. When you click “Get the guide”, the checkout link carries only that site or app name, so we can see which posts lead to sales. A code that changes every day lets us count each visitor once per day, and it can't be linked back to you or across days.
• Google Analytics: on our public pages (the home page and the training tips) we also use Google Analytics, a service from Google, to understand visits: the pages you view, roughly where you are, your device, and the site that sent you. Outside the EU, the UK and Switzerland it stores cookies (named _ga) in your browser so repeat visits can be told apart. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland it runs without these cookies. Google's advertising features are turned off, so this data isn't used for ads. You can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. See Google's privacy policy.
• Email list: if you ask for the free Maligator Survival Kit, we keep your email address, the date, the page you signed up on and your country, so we can send you training tips and news about the guide. Every email will have an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
• Reviews: if you post a review from inside the guide, we keep your rating, your words, the first name and place you enter, and your dog's name. We show it on our home page only after you tick the box saying it's OK, and you can ask us to take it down at any time.
• Partner links: if you arrive through one of our affiliate partners' links, your browser remembers that partner's code for 30 days, and the checkout link carries it, so the partner gets credit if you buy. The partner never sees your name or email.
• Affiliate partners: if you join our affiliate program, we keep your name, email, links, country, payout details, and the clicks and sales linked to your code, to run the program and pay you.
• Wrong guesses: if a license key or receipt number is entered wrong many times, we note the internet address it came from for a short time to stop people guessing keys.

What we don't collect

We don't see or store card numbers, bank details or PayPal logins. There's no password to leak and no contact form. This site has no advertising trackers, and we never sell visit counts.

Payments

Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay orders are handled by Stripe. PayPal orders are handled by Gumroad. You pay on their secure checkout page and their own privacy policies apply there. From them we keep only what unlocks your guide: your email and your order details.

Cookies

When you sign in, the site sets one cookie that keeps that device signed in. It isn't used for anything else. Tap Log out in the guide and it's removed. Affiliate partners get a similar cookie for their partner dashboard. Our public pages (the home page and the training tips) also use Google Analytics cookies (named _ga, kept for up to 13 months) to count visits, except for visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland. The guide itself has no Google Analytics.

Where it's stored

The site and your guide data run on Cloudflare. We use it only to run the guide. Google Analytics data is kept by Google.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we keep about you, or ask us to delete your training data and notes at any time. Just email [email protected] from the address you used at checkout. We may keep basic order records where the law asks us to.

Kids

The guide is made for adult dog owners and isn't aimed at children under 13.
